Voltarol gels deliver diclofenac, a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), specially formulated as an Emulgel which penetrates through the skin to the root of your pain.   • Contains 1.16% of diclofenac diethylammonium in a gel form
  • Contains double the concentration of diclofenac diethylammonium, 2.32% which gets deep into the joint area and lasts longer than the 1.16% gel
  • 3-4 applications a day
  • Only needs to be applied twice a day, morning and evening

What are Voltarol gels used for?

Voltarol gels help to get you on the path to joyful movement with less pain. You can use Voltarol gels on minor injuries, aches and pains as well as conditions such back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, wrist pain, and other joint pain, as well, specifically:

  • Relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling in:
    • soft-tissue injuries or trauma of the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. These can be due to sprains, strains, bruises and backache.
    • localised forms of soft-tissue rheumatism: tendonitis (e.g. tennis elbow)

How often can you use Voltarol gels?

How often you can use your Voltarol gel depends on which gel you have chosen in accordance with your needs. Voltarol 2.32% Gel has a higher strength of the powerful anti-inflammatory diclofenac than the Voltarol 1.16% Gel, and can be applied once every 12 hours - morning and night. Voltarol 1.16% Gel has a lower concentration of diclofenac, and can be applied a maximum of four times a day.

How to use Voltarol gel?

Here is how to use Voltarol gel. It’s easy, we promise!

  1. Open your tube of Voltarol Gel
  2. Squeeze out an amount ranging in size from 1 penny to a 2 pence coin, depending on the size of the affected area
  3. Gently rub into the skin above where you are experiencing body pain
  4. Apply Voltarol gel as indicated on the label
  5. Wash your hands. (Unless the site of pain is your hands of course!) It’s also important you wait for the gel to dry before showering or bathing
  6. Help regain your joy of movement.
