Want to know more about Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters? We’ve put together some of our frequently asked questions to help you out. Still have a question after reading through these? Reach out to our customer care team or consult your pharmacist.

  • What is special about Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters?

Unlike sensorial patches like heat patches, Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters contain a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine, or NSAID, called diclofenac. Diclofenac relieves pain and inflammation directly at its source - so it treats the root cause of the pain, as well as relieving the symptoms. When you apply the plaster to the point of pain, the active ingredient permeates progressively to help relieve the pain locally.

Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters are thin and dry to the touch, so they’re comfortable to wear under clothes. They are also odourless and won’t stain your hands or clothes. Neither you or those around you may notice you’ve even got one on!

Another thing we love about Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters is they only need to be applied every 12 hours - once in the morning and once in the evening - and provide a continuous release of anti-inflammatory active ingredient. It’s as simple as that.

  • Can I use Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters together with other medicines?

As with all medicines, you should be careful if you take multiple medications at the same time. Always ask your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking or have recently been taking any other medications, including those obtained without a prescription.

  • Does Voltarol contain ibuprofen?

No. Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plaster contains diclofenac which, like ibuprofen, belongs to a group of medicines called NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs).

  • Can I use Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters when pregnant?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

  • Can you use Voltarol 140mg Medicated Plasters when breastfeeding?

Small quantities of diclofenac pass into the breast milk. Talk to your doctor before using Voltarol 140 mg Medicated Plaster during breastfeeding. In any case, if you are breast-feeding Voltarol 140 mg Medicated Plaster should not be applied directly onto the breast area.

Pain is rarely just physical nor is it always solved by taking medicine alone. Voltarol is your ally in helping you take more control of your pain journey, from the way to sleep, to what you eat, mental wellbeing and complementary pain relief therapies.
